Land Sale! (and a preview of Sunday’s sermon)

This past Sunday, August 26th, ended our 2-week Approve / Disapprove process. After 16+ weeks of negotiation, due diligence reviews, three Town Halls, great inquiries, wise counsel and much prayer, our fellowship sought to decide whether we would accept the Purchase Agreement as presented by the Developer with proceeds being used for Missions, Facility Infrastructure Improvements, and ‘First Impression’ projects.

On this past Monday evening, August 27th, the Elders certified that the motion was overwhelmingly approved by the fellowship of Bethany Place. The approval margin greatly exceeded that required by the bylaws for approval of the motion. The ballot participation was greater than the Elder Team has seen to this point on any other motion or Approve / Disapprove process in recent memory.

As described before, while the final closing is subject to many conditions and approvals, potential benefits to Bethany Place would include: $400,000 in cash; a better, safer entrance road off Providence Road; a fully landscaped main entrance and 40’ buffer zone; and a 10% tithe of the project’s final net profit offered by the Developer.  A key benefit would be 67+ new neighbors and friends for us to serve.

We are thankful for all of the participation, encouragement, and input shared by our fellowship throughout this process. It is exciting to see what the Lord is doing. He is doing great things among us! We look forward to all He will continue to do among us in the coming months.

Sunday, Gene Cornett will continue the message series Penned for Our Lives with a message from Romans 2:1-16 called “Cutting a Judgmental Spirit From the Root.” The text points to a surprising key for growing spiritually that few, if any of us, ever consider. We encourage you to spend some time meditating on this text before Sunday morning, praying that as we gather Sunday morning God’s name would be hallowed and his kingdom purposes accomplished. If you are traveling this Labor Day weekend, we pray for your safety and look forward to serving alongside you in the days ahead.

Lord Bless!
